Local History Role

The Pioneer Room's local-history collections include books, journals, photographs, archival material, documents, and reference materials. Library annual-report context also describes it as housing the Library's local Escondido history and genealogy research materials.

Its archival objective is to identify, collect, preserve, and provide access to records, manuscripts, and other significant resources with lasting historical, legal, administrative, and fiscal value.

The City Pioneer Room page says the room welcomes contributions of historical documents and photographs about Escondido and North County San Diego.
